WELCOME TO THE ROSCOMMON TOWNSHIP CLERK’S OFFICE

The Township Clerk is responsible for signing and recording all ordinances and resolutions enacted or passed by Roscommon Township.  The Clerk keeps all records and documents pertaining to the Township, maintains the cemetery records and issues burial approvals, publishes legal notices, operates the Township’s mailroom, and approves receipts and expenditures of the Township.  The Clerk administers all oaths of office, conducts elections and is the keeper of the Township Seal. Notary Services are available through the Clerk’s Office.

ADDITIONAL CLERK RESPONSIBILITIES

The Michigan Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), Public Act 442 of 1976, is an act to provide the public access to certain public records of public bodies. The Township Board, acting pursuant to the authority at MCL 15.236, designates the Township Clerk as the FOIA Coordinator.  Carie Milburn is authorized to designate other Township staff to act on her behalf to accept and process written requests for the Township’s public records and approve denials.
